As of April 2015, PI-Class^® is the le­gal­ly pro­tect­ed trade­mark for the PI clas­sif­ca­tion method. In the past few years, Prof. Zie­gler cont­in­u­al­ly refined the method and ex­plained it through sev­er­al con­tri­bu­tions, for in­s­tance, in the form of a pre­sen­ta­tion at the tekom an­nu­al con­fer­ence in 2014.

A cer­ti­fi­ca­tion pro­gram that marks ac­cord­ing prac­tices in con­tent ma­n­age­ment as PI-Class^® com­pliant will be the next step.
